SUMMIT Day 2: Welcome Remarks: Joining the World Conversation on AI & Tech.
Monday October 28, 2024 9:15am - 9:30am AEDT

Joining the World Conversation of AI & Tech

We stand at the threshold of a new era, one where artificial intelligence is reshaping our world in ways both profound and subtle.

As we gather here today, we're not just witnesses to this revolution—we are its architects, its critics, and its beneficiaries. The promise of AI stretches across every sector of our global society, from healthcare to education, from business to environmental conservation. Yet, with this promise comes a responsibility to ensure that the future we're building is one of inclusivity, equity, and shared prosperity.

Today, we'll delve into the multifaceted impact of AI, with a particular focus on its implications for women worldwide and underrepresented communities, especially Filipina women. We'll explore how AI is transforming the global workplace, creating new opportunities while also presenting unique challenges. Our discussion will shed light on the role of next-generation leaders in shaping an AI-driven future that reflects our diverse world.

In an age where information—and misinformation—spreads at the speed of light, we'll also address the critical distinction between AI fact and fiction. By separating reality from hype, we aim to empower you with the knowledge to navigate this rapidly evolving landscape.

From the early dreams of machine intelligence in the 1950s to today's sophisticated algorithms that power our daily lives, AI has come a long way. But the most exciting chapters of this story are yet to be written. And you—the innovators, the leaders, the changemakers in this room—will play a crucial role in authoring them.

As we embark on this discussion, let's remember that the true power of AI lies not just in its ability to process data or automate tasks, but in its potential to amplify human ingenuity, creativity, and compassion. Together, we can ensure that the AI revolution uplifts all of humanity, bridging divides and opening doors of opportunity for everyone, regardless of gender, background, or nationality.

So, let us begin this exploration with open minds and forward-thinking spirits. The future is not something that happens to us—it's something we create together. And today, we take another step toward shaping that future.

The artificial intelligence revolution is going to change EVERYTHING FOR EVERYONE — how we work, how we learn, how we teach, how we trade, how we invent, how we collaborate, how we fight wars, how we commit crimes and how we fight crimes.

In our globalized world, Filipina women aren't just defined by their roots but by the multitude of roles, experiences, and challenges they navigate daily.

The unique position of Filipina women leaders at the intersection of multiple identities and experiences is a call to recognize and harness our power, ensuring our leadership is infused with empathy, resilience, and a deep understanding of diverse narratives.
